Credit card debt is undeniably a large problem that a lot of people face who have been irresponsible and undisciplined in the use of their credit cards. Although some of us may have ended up with credit card debt due to a string of unfortunate events or tragedies in their life, for the most part we carry credit card debt due to our own wrong doings or lack of financial responsibility or credit card over usage issues. (C’mon it happens to the best of us.)

There are however, a lot of ways to pay of your credit card debt and more and more people are achieving this goal every day and are able to fully pay off their credit card debt and hopefully you’re one of the former credit card debtors that are now back in control of your financial future.

Here we are talking about life after credit card debt. Now that you’re debt free you want to remain that way for as long as possible (hopefully forever) right? Well the unfortunate truth is that a large percentage of people that do manage to get out of debt soon find a way to slip back into it. Here is a quick synopsis of things that you should take care of even after you pay off credit card debt:

1) Overspending (don’t do it). You should have learned this lesson by now. Don’t by what you don’t need and/or can’t afford. Ever.
2) Pay bills on time. Always remain within 75% of your credit limit.
3)Don’t carry more than 2 credit card accounts (two are enough for anyone)
4) Pay credit card bill payments in time and in full.

These are just very basic things; you can add more based on your own experience and knowledge.
